IROWG-10

The 10th International Radio Occultation Working Group (IROWG-10) Workshop was held at the UCAR campus in Boulder, Colorado, from September 12-18, 2024. The workshop set a new record with approximately 180 abstracts submitted and over 150 participants attending in person. Attendees included representatives from all major RO processing centers, space agencies, weather prediction centers assimilating RO data, the research community, and commercial data providers. The program featured more than 60 oral presentations and over 100 posters.

The workshop also marked the anniversary of the GPS/MET/COSMIC mission, celebrating with invited guests and speakers. A special highlight was the address by the Governor of Colorado.

IROWG-10 fostered a stimulating atmosphere for scientific discourse, collaboration, and mutual learning among the various occultation-related communities and users of RO data. It provided an excellent platform for exchanging scientific and operational insights between RO data producers, researchers, and applied users. The discussions culminated in recommendations developed through focused sub-groups and later presented in a plenary session on the final day.
